Store bought dog treats can become expensive and may also include ingredients that could upset your pet’s stomach. At Lucky Dog Bark and Brew, we want to help you show your pooch some love this holiday season by baking some delicious and healthy dog treats for them! Using just a few simple ingredients, homemade dog treats are easy to make and will be a huge hit with your pup!
Try this peanut butter and pumpkin recipe from damndelicous.net:
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups whole wheat flour, or more, as needed
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Using an electric mixer, beat pumpkin, peanut butter and eggs on medium-high until thoroughly combined. Gradually add all flour until dough is sticky
- Knead the dough then roll out to ¼ inch thickness
- Using cookie cutters, cut the dough into desired shapes
- Place the shapes on the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes
- Let cool completely before serving to your pooch!
